Had the best dinner experience. The service was very warm and the best part it we got there 10 mins before they closed and they didn’t turn us away. They crème brûlée is to die for. Thank you Lone star Rotorua.
Good location, easy to park, friendly staff. Lots of choices,lots of awards. The pie is quite big for one person. We tried steak pie, creamy mushroom,bacon,n cheese pie.nMy husband's and kIds like those. But it's too salty for me.nAnd the crust is not as I expected.nHowever, must try if you are visiting Rotorua, since those are the award winning pies.
Had a bad experience! I brought a mince & cheese pie, steak & cheese pie and also some chips. Dough was not cooked on the base of the pies and the chips were so stale and dry!! So not worth the money!
They need to remove the signage regarding Supreme Award Winning pies as it's over 14yrs old and there is nothing supreme about them. They even charged for a Potato top pie at a Gourmet price. The pie itself was as average as a garage pie, it was tasty but not award winning tasty.
I ordered 2 pies. Pork belly onion and mushroom and the sweet lamb curry, and a cream donut, the pork belly pie was the best of the two, pork was bbq pork like from the Chinese takeaways, had sliced mushroom in it too, the flavor was good, pastry was okay, and the gravy was decent, the sweet lamb curry pie was essentially a bland pumpkin soup with bits of lamb and carrot in it, waste of money, the cream donut was decent I would recommend it soft decent amount of cream and some jam of top overall experience I'd give it a 7.5/10 due to the sweet lamb curry pie very less than average.
