Had a steak and cheese pie and a coffee. Recommend the pie, it was delicious, they pastry was crunchy and puffy. We asked for piccolos and got something more like flat white, it was still strong considering how milky it was.
The staff is welcoming and quick, with a diverse selection of cabinet foods available. Additionally, the pleasant courtyard seating area is a delightful extra.
Really lovely place for a snack or lunch. Lots of variety and excellent service. Would definitely go again if we were in the area.
Came back to NZ for the first time in 16 years with my now older parents and popped into this cafe for some takeaway coffee. What should have been an innocuous experience turned godawful. From the get-go, we felt very unwelcomed. The woman who served us intensely stared at us as if she can’t understand what I was saying. I grew up in NZ… and I lived 80% of my life in English-speaking countries… After taking our order, the same staff member was smiling, giggling and actually greeting the customers right after us. And you guessed it, they were all white just like her.nBecause there was such a stark difference in her attitude, I had to watch her while making our coffees worried that she might put something unpleasant in our drinks.nnI guess some things never change. Racist then and racist now. Their low class way of thinking was so evident.nnI thought the coffee was great even as a regular coffee drinker in Melbourne but I won’t be coming here again. Really dampened our family trip
A piece of French delicious tastes far away from home. Thank you so much for these lovely sandwiches and sweets
