Story

Le parc national Aoraki/Mount Cook est situé sur l'île du Sud de la Nouvelle-Zélande, près de la ville de Twizel. Il fait partie de la région appelée Te Wāhipounamu, qui est sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO. Officiellement parc national depuis octobre 1953 pour protéger ses espèces biologiques, il est composé de quelques réserves établies plus tôt, la plus ancienne en 1887.

Mount cook is amazing, one of the best place in world. Great walks and stuning scenery. The winter and summer the landscape changes a lot. So, my recommendation will be go to mount cook on different sessons to enjoy the landscapes . Campervans places are on department of conservation without power and shower, NZ$ 15 per peson and the view was incredible. Enjoy it !!!
After 11 years of circling the globe as a digital nomad, Mount Cook is still the most beautiful place I have visited on planet earth. If you have a bucket list country, make it the South Island of New Zealand. If you have a bucket list spot, Mount Cook should be near the top of your list. The hike is jaw dropping and relatively simple with some minor grades here and there. But please be aware that if you fear heights and genuinely dislike bouncing around on a bridge a few hundred feet above terra firma, swing bridges will be an uncomfortable part of this journey. The swing bridges here are safe and reliable but I never got used to them because of my fear of heights and the fact that the bridge actually bounces as you walk across. With that being said, this is just one of the most amazing places in the world. 5 stars all the way.
Highlight of our New Zealand trip! It’s an amazing experience to be hiking here. It took about 3 hours to climb and it was pretty easy without any training. Do pack some light food and drinks, slap on sunscreen and a cap to block the sun! There is only one public restroom somewhere at the 70% mark of the trail so do make sure you plan ahead your toileting. Overall an amazing hike and would do it again when I visit NZ
In the day time, you can enjoy nice scenery during hiking. And when you see the night sky, you'll feel into the fairy tale.
