It's rundown, needs attention to details like adequate seating to put on boots, lighting for those off ice areas, someone to help guide putting on boots and sweep up the food/rubbish on floors. Or collect up dumped boots so people don't trip over them, maybe shelving for those who can't afford to get a locker for their shoes. And more importantly a staff member on the ice to keep a general eye and help keep some of the chaos on the ice friendly.
Decent lil place. Came for my sons 13th no complaints. Staff are awesome :

Ice rink is still maintained quite well. Skates are well used. Getting a sharp pair is a bit hit or miss. Cafe is a bit of a wait, so it's best to order before you get too hungry. Can get relatively crowded on the ice when there are large groups standing around.
Ice of varying quality, they often don’t do an ice cut before public sessions. They also wouldn’t let me un-redeem my concession token after I walked in to a school group of around 50 young kids and left, knowing that I wouldn’t be able to skate safely and meaningfully work on my skills with that many kids on the ice. Bit disappointing after being a regular there for about three years.
recently went to this place for ice skating and had a mixed experience. The ice quality was great, but it was really busy, making it hard to skate without bumping into people. The staff were friendly, but the place is definitely short staffed. the rental skates were a bit worn. Overall, it's a good place to go skating, but try to avoid peak hours if you want to enjoy it.
I recently visited Paradise Ice Skating Rink in Avondale with a group of friends and had a great time. The rink is well-maintained and the ice quality is good. Unfortunately we had a really bad experience here today. We went in very excited. The skates here are terrible. I put my first one on thinking it fit well. I then put the second one on and one of the straps was broken. I got a new pair but the inner was so thin it was not tight enough around my skinny ankles. I got another broken pair took it back. I tried on 8 pairs of skates. We had to leave as they ran out of skates in my size. So we wasted an hour of our time to drive there, try on shoes and get gaslit by the staff and we wasted our money just to have to go home. Very disappointed as we have talked about coming here for a year.
Good to get back onto the ice and for the kids, it was their first experience and loved it. The skates were fairly comfortable although double socks recommended and the staff were friendly and helpful. The variety of music and lighting was good and the temperature was also comfortable. Gloves recommended for the kids for when they hit the ice. Didn't use the cafe.
