Beautifully manicured gardens in the centre of Palmerston North. It's a lovely square with an impressive clock tower, beautiful flowers, pond & fountains & expansive green space for picnics and relaxing. Worth a visit if you're in palmy.
A beautiful and small garden and has a lot of trees, gardens and wide open spaces. It has a very broad stadium with a large variety of equipment. Includes things for both young and adventurers. Ashurst Domain is a great place to rest or on a trip. It also has a good picnic area as well as clean and tidy toilets. It is worth stopping here. As there is a wonderful stadium with free barbecue and private courts for children, senior or young in the heart. 3 separate playgrounds for children of all ages. As there are wonderful corridors through the original bush and ancient tree. The side track provides great views of the wind farm and mountain. The Pohongina River meets with the Manawatu River from the valley. Lots of scenes Tuis and Kerer, love to approach the personal and full personal indulgence in nature
Nice little place to just relax right in the middle of Palmerston
Best showers at the isite. Very affordable. Hot water was a delight on a cold day. Facilities absolutely spotless. Very friendly folk
Good clean family fun
Well thought out area for visitors to Palmerston North, and cafes close by and the monument of the Maori chef has special meaning to me, and the carvings are wonderful. Plus the i-site bulding is there.
February 2023 In my mind this Square has a lot of history pass through it, both Maori & European. Much of it I am no able to recall. With several Cultural activities organised by the local organisations, it is a great place to meet up with friends. Especially on a fine summer day.
Was there for the Rural Games, displays, lots of things for kids to do, small selection of food caravans, enjoyed watching the wood chopping competition, very skilful.
Beautiful park.
Love the Square in Palmy. So well laid out and the balance of trees, greenery and shops with parking and walkways all positioned around the amazingly well designed clock tower and cenotaph makes this one of my favourite spots in Palmy
