I'd give 4.9 starts out of five if I could. Great team. The food was amazing would highly recommend the tortellini. Wine was lovely and a lovely setting. Only feed back was the menu wasn't any good for kids under 10 but they did okay with fries..... Other than that tiny thing the while experience was very nice.
We went for wine tasting and lunch. It was fantastic on all accounts. Food was EXCELLENT, service was exceptional, and the wine was beautiful. For me, the limited edition Pinot Noir was stunning and for my wife she loved the Sauvignon Blanc. Our Cellar door host was knowledgable and passionate. A must do if you are in the area. Thank you Palliser Estate and Staff.
Great experience. Beautiful setting, tasty food sourced locally. Great wine recommendations and great service. Had a really great time.
My favourite winery experience in Martinborough so far. The food by Nara was incredible highly recommend the sliders, so yum! and the service was really friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back, thank you so much!
Our service wasn’t great. We found the staff quite snooty. Wasn’t really service with a smile and felt judged for asking questions. Service was pretty slow too regarding taking our order and receiving our 2 drinks. The winery/building itself is lovely. Really pretty setting. The food was great though! The chicken sliders were delicious! And a great size for the price. If the service was friendlier I’d be giving 5 starts for the food/kitchen staff. Would try again in hope it was just an off day for them.
We booked a lunch as it was our wedding anniversary. We were seated at a table outside but under the porch. It was the start of the most fantastic afternoon. We ordered some wine to go with our meals and both of us thoroughly enjoyed our choices. We had starters , main course and desserts and every single dish was absolutely divine! Our biggest regret is that we had not visited years before because this is now our favourite venue when we want to get away from Wellington and treat ourselves. Thank you so much to the enthusiastic young waiters who did a great job to make us feel right at home. We’ll be returning soon.
Very amazing and delightful service from the team on Saturday afternoon! The best wine I’ve ever had! I drink a lot of it the outside seating really took the cake for me, who doesn’t love a glass of the finest while baking in the sun! Very good team work really putting a meaning to the saying “teamwork makes the dream work” see you guys in the very near future!!!
The salads were great but everything else was okay. Staff were attentive although they seemed a bit young to enact responsible service of alcohol. I did enjoy their rose. Not quite family friendly with the venue only having two high chairs and no change tables in the restrooms.
Quality wine and food truck lunch under the eaves in the courtyard. A perfect easy Sunday. Photo of roasted aubergine, bulga wheat moroccon salad with fried chicken addition.
If you wish to experience a very poor hospitality then you should go to Palliser Estate in Kitchener Street. My wife and I had the chance to spend one night in Martinborough with no children on Saturday the 9 October. We decided to have a glass of their top chardonnay at Palliser Estate the weather was pristine and lovely We arrived after 3pm so we sat with our lovely glass of chardonnay in one of the bean bags. At around 4pm we decided to have one more glass when the staff said that we could not purchase another glass as the kitchen has closed. My wife and i were very disappointed. Yes I understand the alcohol law but why on earth would you closed the kitchen at 4pm? You should close the kitchen when you close the Vineyard! the The place was full of people enjoying themselves with also some unopened bottles still, but we had empty glasses. They should have giving us the heads up by saying:- look buy a bottle instead as you wont be able to purchase another glass. We left the place to next door Tiwaiwaka Wines and the husband and wife were so welcoming, their chardonnay was amazing and also half the price and, of course, smart enough to keep their kitchen open so they would be able to keep pouring their wines. I come from a country were hospitality is on top of the game and you get treated as a king. Instead, some hospitality business have no clue of how to please customers. We also had very rude group of people seating around a large table being rude and yelling:- are you having fun with the bean bags?! We felt very unwelcoming and I have promised to my wife not to ever come back to Palliser.
