Story

Palate is owned and operated by local Mat Mclean and his partner Naomi Lee. Palate opened their doors in 2005 and in that time has won many local and national culinary awards. Focusing on seasonal, fresh, high quality ingrediants with a predominantly NZ wine list to help showcase the best NZ can offer, alongside some consistently exceptional craft beer on tap palate simply offers top cuisine with some truly talented staff to see you through your experience.

Went for my husbands birthday. We were looking for a proper fine dining experience and we were not disappointed. This place delivers. The service was excellent, the staff knew their stuff. All the drinks, whether mocktail or cocktail were absolutely delicious. We all had a main and dessert and every bite was amazing.
I love the atmosphere and ambience in this restaurant. Staff are well trained in their roles so are friendly and accommodating. Food is great and presented very well. The whole experience was excellent and I would highly recommend for fine dining.
How have I been missing this place all these years! Best food I've had in town by a long shot... Great location on the River, beautiful decor and excellent service - highly recommend a night here!
Atmosphere and ambience is amazing, and quality of food is top notch. It is a small menu with every item done exceptionally well. Staff are great and very attentive. Highly recommended
We were celebrating, and what better place to do it! The food was delicious and beautifully presented. I think Palate is the finest place to dine in Hamilton. Thanks for having us.
