It's a very nice small town with good though hard work beautiful structures
A bit busy on a Friday afternoon but other times are fine. Good selection of veggies, meats, alcohol, cereal, cheese, snacks, etc. they do not have some items but their selection is reasonable. Parking lot is big and busy so stay alert.
Absolutely garbage customer service. All the skills you would expect someone to have when working in this line of work were missing from the two staff members who “welcomed” me in.nnI was on a stopover before departing on a 10-day sailboat trip and had just spent NZD 2,000 on food. By mistake, I bought some items twice and wanted to exchange them for store credit so I could buy the things I had missed.nnThey said no. I needed to go to the other Pak’nSave where I had bought the groceries and exchange them there, even though I explained that I couldn’t do that because I had no car and was about to depart. There was no understanding on their side, especially after I saw online that, under New Zealand law, they have to accept returns.nnI accepted that reality and then proceeded to ask if they could keep my items while I went inside and finished the rest of my shopping, which they also refused, leaving me with no option for what to do with the things I had tried to return.nnI got angry at this absolute animal of a customer service experience and said that I would make a complaint about them, to which they simply laughed in my face and said, “Go ahead.”nnI didn’t check their names. I only noticed that one of them had a neck tattoo and the other was clearly a younger staff member, who nonetheless already seemed to be following the example set by the older one.nnCongrats on possibly the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had.
Adequate parking wide isles good selection of the basics lots of significant specials. Range a bit limited can stock out especially specials. Plenty of checkouts operating and self checkout friendly helpful staff.
Huge store. Like any other major paknsave store, so overwhelming with the $5 week specials all over. So easy to grab extras with out really needing them, only because suprusngly fast flow thru express lanes
