Story

Paihia Dive has been taking divers diving since 1978! We run daily trips to the wrecks of the Rainbow Warrior and HMNZS Canterbury, also reef sites in the Bay of Islands.



"Paihia Dive runs dive trips to the wrecks of the Rainbow Warrior and the HMNZS Canterbury, and reef sites of the Bay of Islands. Through out the summer months we have daily dive trips running, in the winter we run on demand.We are also a Padi 5 star Dive Centre. We teach courses from Open Water to Dive Master as well as doing daily Discover Scuba Dives for first time divers.Paihia Dive is the only dive shop in Paihia. We sell all dive gear, do air fills and service equipment. We also sell fishing gear and spear fishing equipment."

Amazing experience! everything was great! the communication with the owner Craig was amazing, he was very helpful with organizing we were coming to NZ with a cruise ship so had a very tight schedule. The diving instructors were very professional, nice, and funny. The equipment was in a very good condition and the dives were spectacular, water was 21-22C, we have seen huge Spiny lobsters, Moray eels, an eagle ray and loads of very friendly fish. our favorite part was the currents in "the toilet" at Putahataha island. Very professional team, friendly and so helpful. We had Four dives in total and Two fantastic dives on the rainbow warrior and the Canterbury Wrecks! Craig has Great knowledge of the dive sites and shared the information in a fun way. Would also like to mention Sophia who was so good, patience and helpful with my partner who was doing a discovery to scuba diving, she had a great experience and is so pleased that Sophia was able to care for her. Teamwork makes the dream work, and Craig got an awesome team. They had lots of stories tips, tricks and experience to share with us newbies. A great day out at deep water cove with 20m+ visibility. Wishing the team a long summer of high vis!
We have dived with Craig and team a number of times and they work hard to cater for everyone on the boat. They structure the diving during the day to suit all levels of experience and nobody goes home disappointed. The diving is hard to beat with easy access to the HMNZS Canterbury, Rainbow Warrior and local protected reefs. The boat rides are short and the crew entertaining.
Myself and a couple of mates come over from Sydney to dive with Paihia Dive - We were thoroughly impressed! Dive Shop and boats all very well organized, staff friendly and professional, and catered to our needs perfectly - Good Safety and Site briefings meant that we were able to get the most out of our dives. Thank you for some awesome diving! We WILL be back!
Amazing and chilled day out. Was so comfortable with my instructor Sophia. Felt like a relaxed day diving with mates. Best experience in New Zealand so far and would highly recommend to everyone. Thanks alot to all the crew at Paihia Dive.
Lovely people, awesome dives Had a great time on a day out on the boat! We did 2 dives. And the diving itself is top class. One of the coolest wrecks if been at. But what topped the whole experience is the staff. Such nice people to hang out with. Very knowledgeable of the local area, and we even got some history of the area and a few fun facts just felt like you are all hanging out with a bunch of friends! Will definitely recommend!

Thanks to Craig and staff an amazing few dives on rainbow warrior and canterbury plus reef dives. Everyone so supper friendly and helpful can't wait to recommend you to any friends that are ever gonna head this way that they need to stop off here and book a dive. Keep doing what you do a really great diving experience. We dove the Canterbury wreck and it was the most amazing diving trip! The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. It was easy for me to dive with my friends who weren’t dive certified which was awesome for our group! All around great experience and people.
