I stayed at this wonderful hostel for more than 3 months and i must say it was one of the best experiences of my life. I came here with my last savings from Auckland, hoping to find a job and i was enormously happy that this hostel works together with companies and could provide me a job during the kiwi picking season. I arrived here stressed and emotional thinking i would have to cut my trip short but this hostel saved my travel experience and gave me a big family with it : i met people I will never forget and built connections with now some of my closest friends and will be forever grateful for the amazing staff and hospitality i received here! The rooms were cozy, the kitchen is big and the lounge was one of my favourite spots to chill after a work day. The perfect walking distance from the beach and had some gorgeous sunsets/sunrises only 5 min walks away.nnThank you so so so much for this lifetime experience nnLove, Jodie
Really nice hostel. The room is quite small for travelers and the amenities are a bit dated, but everything was functional and there was a nice atmosphere even though the hostel wasn't very crowded. The staff was fantastic : If I will come back in the area, I will definitely stay here again.
Two months here and honestly… I don’t even have the words. This hostel became my home away from home. I arrived knowing no one and I’m leaving with amazing memories and incredible people I’ll never forget.nnThe vibe here is just different—always good energy, laughs, and spontaneous plans. It’s impossible to get bored.nnAnd the staff thank you for everything. Always kind, welcoming, and ready to help with anything. You really make this place special.nnIf you’re thinking about staying here, just do it… you might find it hard to leave nnThank you for everything, I’ll be back
A hostel that feels like home heaps of places to chill, big kitchen space, lovely people and, most notably, prime location. Staff make you feel welcome and will help you with anything you need. A truely special place in beautiful surroundings. The type of place you don’t want to leave.
Stayed at this hostel on Labour Day weekend and didn’t have the best experience. The hostel isn’t very sociable as there were many long term guests who didn’t really socialise. The rooms were fine but a bit dated. Kitchen facilities were good.nThe big negative for me was when I came back from an evening out and one of the other guests started being extremely racist towards me. After a while I snapped back at him at which point he went to the staff member on night shift and told him I don’t stay here and to kick me out. The night staff came and told me to leave as I don’t stay here to which I told him I do and asked why he believed the guest who had been racist to me instead of me or even why he didn’t confirm himself before trying to kick me out. It was only when the other guests in my dorm told him I stayed here that he left.nI was going to raise a complaint with the manager the next day but I was leaving that day anyway and didn’t really have any confidence they’d do anything about or to make it right based on my experience with the staff there over my stay.
