I honestly can’t express how great of a trip this was, but I will try. We did the afternoon kayak adventure with Ben as our guide. The views on the trip alone were stunning for the drive and kayak. We were very fortunate this trip that we got to see baby fur seals, Hector dolphins, and penguins!nBen was a phenomenal guide. He had interesting facts for us throughout the excursion, was quite funny, and kept us all feeling very safe. It is obvious he is passionate about nature, and it really makes seeing things through his eyes quite special.nThis 4 hour trip was already incredible value for the money, but better yet Ben explained that some of the cost goes towards the penguin preservation Pohatu marine reserve!!nI truly recommend doing this trip even if you have a kayak and are local. Cheers
We had an amazing trip. Although we did not see dolphins or penguins, we had the most beautiful conditions. The views were absolutely stunning. Lots of bird life around.nVila was extremely knowledge, kind and helpful throughout the tour.nA definite must see when visiting Akaroa.
Amazing day! Not only were the penguins a highlight but the road side stops and informative guides we had made out day! Spectacular views. Winding roads along the peninsula with breathtaking views. We saw the penguins during nesting season and were fortunate enough to see the babies! Guides and staff were incredible! Highly recommend!
Thank you so much for the most wonderful experience. Ben’s enthusiasm and knowledge made for a very special morning out kayaking! We saw penguins, Hector dolphins, heaps of seals and all manner of sea birds. It was great paddling with Jacob from Denmark. The penguin talk the night before with Kaitlyn sp? was so educational and seeing what goes into preserving this species is heartwarming. And what about those friendly sheep?! I loved my time in Flea Bay and will definitely be back. Hats off to the Help family and all who work so hard to make it possible for us to experience.
I loved doing this tour. Our guides Joey and Geraldine were amazing, they are really passionante, it's really interesting to learn not only about pinguins, but also about the place, the history, the fauna and so much more.nAnd yes, we saw penguins and their chicks !!! We saw them close in the nesting boxes, but also in the bay waiting to come back on shore. We also saw some fur seals and some Cormorants drying on the side.nThe money of this tour is for helping the preservation of the land and the growth of the blue penguins populations. It would be really sad if they ended up being extinct and I think it's totally worth it.
