Fantastic cycling route but does get quite hot due to exposed area. Don't miss the avo orchard - open to the public limit of 5 each - you'd have to carry your bike over the gates though..
A special and stunning spot to visit. Predominantly on leash for dogs, with views of the Manukau Harbour and the local wildlife. Worth a visit, to wander the quiet paths and collect a few avocados, when in season.
Very interesting place, with pretty views and nature such as mangrove and birds. You can also pick a few avocados when in season. Not only was this apparently a site of two volcanoes and a old lava like feild, it was also a Maori town settlement before European came and this is evident in the landscape and plants left behind.
Beautiful place!!!! Amazing view! One can observe that black goose immigrate at the location. It's nice to look at! Also, it used to be the cemetery of the first maoris. We can see vestiges of the past. We can observe the Maori's way of building walls with their special techniques to break stones so they don't need cement or things like that to connect the stones together. It's quite impressive!... HOWEVER, I've been told that it belongs to a big company now. They might built housing and stuff like that in the future. IT IS A SHAME! It should stay untouched. It's an historical site!!!! Some Maori people are there to give you information about the place. They kind of occupy the place and I agree with that to be honest. I would also try to defend my roots!! They have their own houses in the area so they are not trying to squat there or have free land, rent or whatever people might think. They just want to protect their heritage and leave the site untouched!
Not recommend, road closed due to some local reasons
