Otago Polytechnic School Midwifery offers a four year Bachelor's degree to students in the lower North and South Islands. Students work closely with women throughout the childbirth experience and are supervised by the midwives working with these women.
Otago Polytechnic's School of Midwifery is nationally and internationally recognised as a leader in midwifery education. In our undergraduate programme learning is flexible with a mix of face to face, small group and classroom learning, supported by online learning resources, online tutorials and a large component of midwifery practice across all maternity settings. Students can study from their own home anywhere in the lower South and lower North Islands of New Zealand."
Our midwifery school also offers registered midwives postgraduate midwifery programmes, including a Master in Midwifery programme and other short courses suitable for continuing education. The majority of short courses and postgraduate courses are online to fit in with the busy lives of practising midwives.
