I always come to visit for some relatively cheap, yummy pizzas with my mates! Quick, easy to order, and lots of variety. They do takeaway which is great if you wanna take it and eat in a park, compared to having to wait in a restaurant and eating there. I took mine to the skatepark today!
Unfortunately, this place has taken a bad turn. Used to be the best takeaway spot on the island with good portions and good value. Now, the quality of food has dropped dramatically, the portion sizes have decreased, and they have bumped up their prices to reflect this? As a local who has ordered many times from these guys, unfortunately, I can't justify going back. The last portion I bought was partially burnt and partially uncooked which is impressive, literally tasted bitter. They have gotten greedy and neglected what made them a busy spot in the first place

They could have gone home, leaving me to forage for scraps like some tragic protagonist in a Victorian novel. But they didn’t. They stayed. And they delivered—on all counts.nnOstend Pizzeria doesn’t just make pizza; they make moments. And on a night when all seemed lost, they reminded me that a good meal isn’t just about sustenance—it’s about connection, care, and maybe just a touch of magic.
Not Italian pizza. Really weird taste / spices.nnMaybe you could call it fusion?nnSuper disappointed. Never again.
Good enough pizza if that’s all you’re after. Their specialty preset pizzas are fine with a lot of options to choose from. All of the paneer options are good.nnChicken strips are ALWAYS cold in the middle, and they haven’t been receptive to this information and don’t seem to want to update the cooking time to ensure they’re crispy and at least warm through versus cold. Ah well. They did agree to put the order I received back into the fryer the first time I brought it up. After the second time the chicken strips were cold, I have given up and just don’t eat here anymore.nnDefinitely better places to spend money getting takeaways on Waiheke. Like Sing Tao across the street for a feed: way cheaper, big portions, and hasn’t disappointed me yet.
