Omaka is situated 5.5 kms from Christchurch International Airport, on the North West side of Christchurch. Well back from the busy roads with no road noise with the only sounds being the sounds of the river babbling by, the wind in the trees and the planes flying over. A peaceful and idyllic place so close to the city.
Omaka is a Scout camping ground that is utalised by the scouting community through out the Canterbury area. Groups regularly use Omaka for camping, meetings and one off events. Though Omaka is a Scout Camping Ground it is open to other groups for a range of purposes by bookings only
