Extraordinary museum! It is so full of amazing historic planes and their history. Some of them a beautifully placed in a scenery. There are also halls of other plane memorabilia and trinkets. Their new WWII displays are truly stunning too! Highly recommend coming by and experiencing one of New Zealands best museums.
This is an astonishing collection of rare aircraft from the first and second world wars. The aircraft are preserved & maintained to such a high standard that some are even airworthy. You can actually see the development of aircraft technology and design features through the years. In addition, there are accounts of pilots on all sides of the conflicts, exhibits of actual uniforms, medals and equipment. There are staff on hand to give detailed explanations and technical information. Well worth the entrance fee - highly recommended!
Fantastic place to visit. Very well displayed history on WW1 and WW2 aircraft. Make sure you put aside enough time to look through the displays and memorabilia. Peter Jacksons WW1 collection is truly a sight to see with some very rare war planes on show. Highly recommendedVisited onPublic holidayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
$39 for 2 exhibitions, spent about 2.5 hours here, definitely a good visit! Amazing scale of planes and some interesting stories - even for those not super interested in planes or vehicles! Price is not cheap but worth a visit if you are going through Blenheim!
Incredible exhibits! I’ve been to countless aviation museums worldwide and this is by far one of the most immaculately detailed, photos don’t do it justice. Definitely check it out it’s world class!Visited onPublic holidayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
We only managed the WWI part but what a cool collection to have available to the public. The lovely gentleman who met us at the entrance was a wealth of information and an added bonus. Can't wait to go back and see the WWII collection.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
OMG the best museum ever. It was great, there are no words to describe how it leaves you feeling or even wondering how they do it. Well I do as my mum did it on a much smaller scale but this place you have to see before you leave this planet. Both WW1 and WW2 areas take you to another zone.
Two separate exhibitions for WW1 and WW2. Planes and memorabilia are stunningly displayed in awesome tableaus. Plenty of historical and mechanical information plus human interest stories. Lovely little cafe and curio shop too.
Fantastic! Was $135 for 3 adults and 1 child 4y.o was free to see both ww1 and ww2 exhibits. Well worth the time. Kids loved it. Has a 3d movie theatre for stalingrad. That was awesome! No need to book in advance. Plane rides outside also. Car museum next door but unfortunately was under refurbishment.
Amazing place to harness one's love for aviation history and to pay respects to the brave men and women of WW1 and WW2. The guides Thank you Maurice are extremely knowledgeable and have many stories to share.
