Got the big brekki with smoked salmon on the side and a mango smoothie, tasted amazing, then 6 hours later I'm crook as and yeah nah i wont get into it, but i dont give out low ratings very often, so this rating shows how bad it is, i haven't eaten anything else today and this was a lunchtime visit, the reason I gave it 2 stars for the food was it tasted good, maybe the smoked salmon had gone off? The service was slightly in my face about ordering, as I wasn't ready as the menu is so full of great sounding things it was hard to decide for my partner. So after 3 attempts at getting me to order I told them I'd wave them down when I was ready to order. I won't be returning, after evacuating my bowels I still feel crook. Edit: next day I'm still sick, day off work, do not go here. Changed to 1 star.
We had brunch on Waitangi Day Thursday and absolutely loved it. For the first time, I had a smoothie that was actually better than the ones I make at home—so thank you for that!nnWe went back on Saturday, but this time, the smoothie had noticeably more spinach, which caused it to oxidize quicker. I don’t have a picture, so you’ll have to take my word for it—it was much darker in color and less sweet. That said, the breakfast quality was just as great as the first time.
Coffee was great atmosphere and location fabulous. Food however wasn't. Fish had a twang to it like it had something added to the batter or they used the wrong beer. Other peoplrs meals looked fabulous. When complained was given a very small discount.
Updated 2025: Service and food has completely changed, service was very slow and unorganised. Portions are very small and bacon in Eggs Benedict was burnt. Took 3 requests to get served.nnTeam seemed understaffed and coffees took longer than the food to arrive.nnI wonder if the ownership has changed?nnStill a great atmosphere shame about the service and food.
We had our table in the patio which was nice and the server was with us shortly. What was really interesting was that both our coffee and food got at the table amazingly fast! The food specially the smashed avocado could use more seasoning.
