New Zealand's best eco-friendly cafe and store. Come and enjoy our range of speciality food + great coffee, relax in our beer garden with a boutique beer or soak up the million dollar lake views with a glass of wine.

Story

In the heart of Okere Falls sits the Okere Falls Store. A place to stop, refresh, relax and enjoy an array of interesting and unique food. Fresh, local produce, organics and condiments sit side by side with Italian, German and Spanish gourmet treats, boutique beers, wine and of course great coffee.

Sarah Uhl had a vision to create an oasis for travellers and locals that offered them an exprience like no other. Not only that, Okere Falls Store aims to be as gentle on the environment as possible.

You wont find Coca-Cola products here...in October 2016 Sarah announced that the company was not a fit for the Okere Falls Store given the rising rate of obesity in New Zealand and the impact that plastic bottles are having on the environment.

Superb! Every single thing we ordered tasted amazing and fresh and the flavours taste so real and authentic. We did the falls hike around the corner for about an hour or so, then had the best lunch at this place. Will definitely come back again.
This is a real cultural experience. Excellent selection of craft beers on tap and in the fridge. They have a great selection of Vegan options at very reasonable prices. Service is outstanding. Even when really busy, which seems to all the time, the meals arrive very quickly. The quality is equally excellent. Seating inside and outside. Do the Okere Falls walk first and build up an appetite. Then hit the Store to refuel.
hands down the best toastie I have ever had. I drove half an hour to try this famous toastie, and it was totally worth it. great service and a nice setting too. cheers! edit: I have been here several times and tried many dishes, and the food and service is consistently top notch. i highly recommend this Cafe!
It's my first time in New Zealand and I honestly don't know why I don't live here yet. This cafe? is located in the middle of the mountains on a swirly road and everything about this place is perfect. The food. The people. Everything.
We visited the Okere Falls Store twice. First for breakfast and then we popped out back to have a coffee outside. The next day we went back for the special Toastie, which was great. Service was all really nice and just cool vibes all around.
Amazing restaurant, definitely a must stop! The food was fresh and so tasty, highly recommend it. Need to go back to try all the other items on the menu!

Was mistakenly given the wrong plate at first sandwich/toastie but it ended up being quite alright and tasty. My friends really enjoyed the nachos. The chocolate drink was also great!
Great place with a lovely vibe. Very friendly staff, yummy food and great coffee. It was sadly just a pit stop for me as we were passing through. Although would be a great place to enjoy a beverage of your choice out back and enjoy a relaxing afternoon. I will definitely be back for a planned visit. Make sure you pick up a $1 bag of pick n Mix when you are there.
My Go-to when I come to Rotorua. I've been here 4 times now, I will never Miss the opportunity to come here for a meal. This is also where I discovered the best chocolate ice cream in the whole wide world - Dr.Good , highly recommended.
