Wow wow wow is all I can say! I want to thank the owners for creating such a beautiful, cosy and peaceful hostel. We had an amazing stay and felt at home. You can tell the owners have put a lot of thought into the place.
It's a bit too pricey for a dorm room. Also places are cold. However, you haven't got much choice in Oamaru here. I messaged about my concern about climbing up bunk beds. There's nothing they can do, rules by rules, no sympathy, and just think they could have done better.nnTo reply to your comment: The other backpacker in town does provide liner and towel. As I have stay there.nnWhen I arrived there's other bottom bunk available. However, it was already assigned when I received the code.nnI can choose what I want to book based on my budget, I didn't asked to change a room and I'm just asking if there's anything you can do.nnEveryone has the right to choose their review based on their experience. And definitely not coming back again. You don't have to tell me that.
One of, if not, the best hostel I have stayed in and I have been travelling around a lot. It's so comfy! It feels like a real home. Granted, it is very quiet. But that's fine for me. There are lots of books, games, and so many borchures on what to do, where to eat etc. And there is lots of free food, like cereal and spreads Nutella, jam, etc. And free tea and hot chocolate. And they give you bedding and a towel, which is not the case everywhere. And it's just so beautifully decorated! And clean too! Love it!
This is probably the best hostel I've ever been to! It felt more like a home than a hostel. The room was lovely, with so much character and personal touches that make staying somewhere that much better. Cereals, tea, coffee, and a fridge dedicated to free food were available to us for free, as well as veg from their veg patch! And towels were provided which is rare in hostels. Amazing views of the sea, and so many personal touches in the communal areas just made it a lovely hostel to spend time in. Heating in the rooms, curtains on the beds. Loved it all! I wish I could have stayed more than one night, it was truely marvelous.nThe bathroom was a little dated but It did the job and didnt bother me at all :, and yes it was a little odd without staff around but I had to call them at one point and they responded quickly and were very helpful!
Stayed for one night only, the room was great for the price. I had trouble booking online, but the owner was very helpful and sorted it out. Would definitely recommend.
