Great food, and the guy had a lot of knowledge of the history of the meals. Would recommend the dumplings, hand cut crispy chips, and "Chinese Hamburgers". Will definitely go back. The service was friendly and professional. Beers were served fast and ice cold. We used a grab one voucher and they gave us a another discount voucher when we paid! Very lovely place
Food was fantastic. service was fantastic. and Keke tap beer on point. highly recommended! pork n prawn dumplings were the highlight. toilets very top notch. Nice Marine fish tank too! and we were given a voucher for another meal when we left. cheers!
Very nice little place, awesome warm interior, descent food. Had a weird feeling about this place, like it’s always missing something. Service was very good from one waiter, the other didn’t know what beer was in tap, and brought us dirty glasses. All the different dumplings looked amazing, but all of them tasted a bit funky. Definitely not bad, maybe it was my taste, but something was off. Overall - worth a visit, but not sure we will be back.
Went here to take my girlfriend out for dinner, absolutely... The worst Chinese restaurant I've been to... I drove past Artwok several times in the past and really wanted to give it a try because it "looked nice". And it is exactly just that... It "looks nice" imagine your local Chinese restaurant in a fancy setting, charging double the price of what you're used to paying and with tapa proportions. I don't know about all those other 5 star reviews, but they've probably never really had proper Chinese food. If you've been bought up in an Asian family don't bother coming here honestly. We ordered the Yanpi Wontons which they said it has 'Alaska King Crab', Pork & Prawn, water chestnut", fancy sounding alright.. But it was just some ordinary wonton not even as good as the ones you have at Yum Cha with 5% crab which you can't taste, and 95% pork. You tell me if 8 pieces of pork wontons dunked in some overly seasoned pepper soup with a piece of vege are worth your $20.. Next we got the Heijiao Niuzaili aka. Black pepper sauce eye fillet, the only decent thing about this dish is the eye fillet, but if you're paying $42 for a few tiny cut up pieces of an eye fillet covered over with red onions, I'm really wondering how filthy rich you are, or you just don't care about food in general, then I don't blame you. Dessert, we had the Mango Sago, My goodness... I don't know what they were thinking, mango sago does not look or taste anything like this. It taste like your morning cereal yogurt mixed with some left over nuts a spoon full on custard, add a scoop of mango sorbet and to top it off some Lukewarm sago... This plate of dessert was horrible looking as much as it tasted. WARNING: DON'T GET THIS! go down to the Takapuna beach Cafe to get yourself some proper dessert. *CONCLUSION* I'm just going to say you'll be disappointed, unless you've got the money to throw at this place. The marketing team and the designers definitely did their job right! Kudos to themI don't know if I'm just unlucky and chose the wrong things to order but I spent a solid $70+ on their recommended dishes and was thoroughly disappointed. or maybe because im also Cantonese and I know what real authentic Canto food taste like despite Artwok being western fusion. thanks for Robbing me.
Most amazing food I've had in a while. Wonderfully tasty and generous portions. We also had the pork and prawn spicey dumplings. Will definitely be back!
Best dumplings I have ever experienced, mains were a bit disappointing the first time, but the dumplings brought me back for another try and it was great. Our waitress Jackie was phenomenal
Tried the wontons made of and but actually filled with lots of pork. Didn't taste good. And the sour and sweet fish is not bad but not amazing. I think I have too much expectation for the dishes here however it doesn't gain my like..I'm Cantonese so I really know the wontons and sour sweet fish are not that good.
We tried the lobster in garlic and vermicelli, soft shell crab, and roast duck pancake. Simple yet flavourful. The texture and spices of the soft shell crab was amazing, it was the best amongst the food we ordered. The owner, Derek Ng, was very accomodating and prompt in customer service. We will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu.
Nice place but the food was good but pricy. Went as a group of four and had ordered 6 dishes. Place had good reviews. However if you want a nice value for money Chinese meal go somewhere else.
Had dinner here last week to celebrate my mum’s b-day with my family. I’m so satisfied with everything, their dishes, service and their decorations. My mum is a vegetarian, I’m happy that they have vegetarian choices and they are willing to customize food for my mother. As my mum doesn’t eat garlic, onions and many other things. NZ Tang have avoided using those ingredients and my mum is happy about it. Other than that, their dishes are delicious. I especially love their Chili Potato Chips and Stem Oysters. Will definitely visit again. I wish more people know about this brilliant restaurant~
