Tidy store, friendly staff, good range of products and well maintained store. Pricing is high and in general in New Zealand. New Zealand products are also priced higher. I wonder what they do with the expired products and food wastage. Pricing could be lower on many products and there is a huge difference from the prices in North Island. The staff here is amazing!
Usually a good place, but with more options opening, they need to find the niche that will make them stand out and they are failing. An example is that bakery have recently changed recipes. And not for the better. Their store-made Afghans a favorite treat have gone from traditional icing sugar icing to the tasteless plastic-y ganash that everyone else uses. We won't buy them again.nUpside, in the interest of fairness, their new fancy cinnabuns are good.
Lovely clean place. The staff are nice and friendly. The prices are a bit higher than other supermarkets. For instance the vegetables were more expensive, but the freshness I find is better at New World.
i like toast, most white bread is average, but i found the best white toast bread ever......its new world in store freshly baked bread, extra thick sliced bread.......it makes the best toast ...try it!
I think the reviews noting limited stock are more legit, this store regularly keep withdrawing quality or premium lines, recently they withdrew Henderson Proper Bacon the only good low additive bacon they had more recently they withdrew Lewis Road Double Cream, that's just two recent products they dropped that we noticed, i wonder how many more they withdrew. The staff seem to generally have a low level of customer service and the checkout conveyors are commonly dirty with flour etc. They are making the choice between remaining with new world or going to Pak n Sav easier with every product the stop carrying and each sub par service experience.
