Story

Myrddin Stud is a small stud that focuses on quality not quantity. Quality being a mixture of bloodlines, conformation and temperament.

We strongly believe in natural horsemanship methods and use them when handling all of our horses. We believe that the perfect horse can be created by giving it the best start in life — the best education and the best growing environment (both mental and physical).

Myrddin Stud focuses on breeding Paints and Quarter Horses that are more suited to performing in the Western Riding style. Therefore we are aiming to breed horses with a short but wide head, well balanced neck, deep broad chest with well set forelegs and muscled shoulders, shorter back with a deep girth and well sprung ribs, and powerful muscular hindquarters.

All our foals will be handled from birth and are introduced to new and ‘scary’ things regularly. They are raised in a friendly and positive environment which stimulates their natural curiosity.

Each horse is treated as an individual with each new lesson altered to suit their unique learning style. This ensures that each horse our stud produces is well handled, quiet and confident.
