Etch-it has a state of the art UNIVERSAL Professional Series 60 watt laser that has a bed size of 800mm x 450mm. We pride ourselves in a high quality prompt service. We are happy to assist with design and organizing out work unable to be carried out by ourselves. We have built up good working relationships with other service providers so we do provide a complete service.
A CO2 laser uses the application of highly controlled heat to either etch/engrave or cut a wide range of materials.
When engraving the heat is applied similarly to ink from a conventional printer, but as dots that burn the surface rather than leaving a dot of ink. Depending on the material and heat applied it will burn a surface removing it. The level of heat and the dots per unit of measure can be controlled to a very precise level therefore enabling etching such a wide range of materials.
When etching metals a marking paste is applied and the heat applied by the laser drives the marking material into the metal’s surface, laser etching will therefore last as long as the material being etched, usually stainless steel, brass or aluminum.
When a CO2 laser is used to cut materials the heat is applied at a sufficient level to cut through the material while the laser is following a computer controlled vector line. The resulting profile is highly accurate and in the case of acrylics the edge is sealed and flamed.
