Murrayfield Museum Cafe

How cool was this, we arrived at Murrayfield, a large group and not only had they prepared their usual menu but included a special big breakfast option just for us. They sold a fair few of these. Friendly service from great staff. Thanks for having us again. Most appreciated. R.A.C.

We were looking forward to the museum after going all the way from Napier, but it was closed. As for the petting Zoo, I spotted a pig, a miniature horse and two Alpacas. The food was nice, and the actual restaurant was lovely - large and airy but not cold. The staff were efficient and friendly.

Great food, great service. Amazing venue with park like grounds . Caters for special occasions as well as somewhere nice for lunch.

Great place. Charming, rustic building. Friendly staff. Very quick service and very fair pricing for good food. Awww It's being sold and the lovely owner has lost money. I'm so sad that people didn't support it with their custom. Vegetarian options: Good variety Kid-friendliness: Big open spaces and kids welcome. Parking: Massive free parking area. Tasty food, drinks, beautiful ambience... an awesome place for a family get together or a wedding or a birthday party.

Had heard good reviews so the family and I were keen to visit. Listed as open on Google Lunch time on a Saturday, so makes sense for a cafe. Drove from Palmerston North to arrive at a closed gate with a shut sign. Rather frustrating : Please update your hours.

It was a cold night and we were the only booking. It was a very Dark night and you certainly need your wits about you driving there. Our friend got slightly lost. No street lights. It was well worth it as the Restaurant has been jazzed up and was warm and homely. The staff were really friendly and the Lady Chef was exceptionally talented with her cooking. I had roast Beef with Yorkshire puddings Yum!! Desserts are all delicious and hand made. I would love to go again. Perfect for a group booking or a Wedding. One table seats 24. Book your table you will not be disappointed.

This place is amazing and they really customized everything to meet our needs. The food was fantastic!

Due to covid, things have changed. Food is served on paper plates and there is no inside seating. Hubby and I were married here 11 years ago so decided to visit the place for our anniversary. It definitely doesn't have the same feel anymore. We had cheesecake which was nice but took ages to come out when there was only a few people there.
