I went out to dinner at the Cafe with my family. It was a lovely experience. The staff were very friendly and kind. We received great service and delicious food. I had the crispy chicken hamburger with fries which was fantastic. It was very filling and quite reasonably priced for just over $20. It was my first time here but it seems very popular as there was quite a number of people also dining in. While we ate I also saw a few people go in and out of the cinemas. Seems like the place to go if you are in Levin.
Beautiful food! I had the Vegetarian Lasagna w/salad and it was a no-room-for-dessert dish. The staff were lovely and the service was good. The restaurant section was clean and tidy. Unfortunately the bathroom was a bit of a letdown with a hand-dryer that I was not putting my hands into. I acknowledge that this is also the bathroom for the theater but it should be checked by somebody on a fairly regular basis, even if it's just because there is food served there. My overall experience was positive and I would return.. I think I want dessert :-
On a family day out, we were in Levin looking for somewhere to eat, focal point cafe was recommended by numerous local shop keepers... Although the service was a bit slow they were busy as it was lunchtime the food was top notch and really filling. The staff were really friendly and accommodating towards our autistic son... Would recommend this place to anyone passing through...
Interesting cafe attached to the cinema, mix of movie snacks and full restaurant meals. Went for dinner, and the food was very nice, generous portions. Good selection of entrees and mains, as well as normal cafe cabinet food.
We went to Focal point last night to celebrate a birthday. The table was set up nicely. When we put our orders in it took approximately 30 minutes to get entrées out. We got the the fried chicken which was good and the Garlic bread could have had garlic butter. It took approximately another 30 mins to get mains out. At this stage we hadn't been asked if our meals were good or if we want more drinks. When the mains came out some of them were warm with cold vegetables while the carby mains were hot.We were not asked if we wanted deserts however by this stage we were more then ready to go. There may have been lack in staff as this was a Monday however it would have been good if they let us know there would be a wait. One of the younger ladies serving us made every request from us seem like it was a problem. Her attitude was poor from start of service right through to payment not even saying thank you when processing our payments. She may have been having a hard day or maybe no training however the lack of communication between the serving staff and us made the experience long and lack luster. This night there were only about 3 groups so it would be interesting to know how the place runs when there's a full house. All round the menu is good, the prices are fair and selections for drinks are good too, however the service at this venue was the biggest down fall for this restaurant. I will probably try Focal point out again as i have had good meals there and service has been really good in the past, but this won't be for a while in hopes that the standards go back up.
Food is always good and service is very friendly. Wait time on Food was quite lengthy, understand though with people being away sick. Definitely one of the best places to eat in town!!
Saw Black Adam the movie, popcorn was stale, ice cream nice and coke. Attentive staff yet to eat in the cinema for a meal. The seat in front of me was stained.
They need a dedicated staff member just selling movie tickets. Like an express lane. People wanting food need to be in their own queue.
i've not been to Focal Point in the evening for some time now and i sort of forgot why i don't go in the evening.....They get busy, very busy, and noisy, VERY noisy. The sound bleed from the cafe into the cinema's is intrusive, unless both doors are closed, and because they are busy and because people are coming and going, every time someone opens the door the sound of the cafe comes flooding in. Also on my visit the actual cinema was stinking dirty. Food and leftover detritus from the previous showing was all over the seats and walkways. It was so bad that i moved seats, and yet when the serving person came in with peoples orders they did nothing about it, even when asked to. Employ more, or better, staff Focal Point!
Love the couch seating and cushions. Yummy snacks and meals bought to your seat. Pity about the air con It was freezing. I asked twice for it to be turned off and nothing
