Mr Milton's Canteen

Very beautiful and cozy place, good service. Unfortunately I arrived late afternoon and the kitchen was already closed, the food in the cabinet seemed to be nice but was overpriced compared to what I was expecting on finding there. The Pegasus latte art made my day though. Thanks.

I like fresh salad and drink! we saw the menu that breakfast with bacon so we ordered it and there was no bacon. we ask them and they gave us bacon

Great coffee, service and atmosphere.

Love the environment at this cafe. Comes across as a nice quiet corner to unwind. Tastefully done industrial decor. They serve great coffee.. but perhaps a notch better? Good food. But needs a better selection. Recommend their Mexican salad -good stuff... the poached chicken was spot on. Just wish they smiled a bit more. Theres a warmth in the service that's missing...

Caramel slice.... oh, so divine! No pic, there was no time before it was inhaled. The short black coffee is excellent! I'd rate it as one of the top three in Hamilton.

I had the weekly special, avocado on toast with pickled onion and feta, I've been going to Mr Milton's since they opened as i work here in the CBD and lately it is not as it once was. The avocado was over ripe and brown, the rye was barely toasted more warmed and the pickled onion was scarce, they'd also stacked it so that one piece of toast covered half of the other meaning half of one piece of the toast had absolutely nothing on it. I was so disappointed as I am a huge fan of Mr Milton's. The quality of the food as dropped and I probably won't go back to eat again. The only reason i have given two stars is because the staff are so lovely, the food standard however has lost them three stars.

Perfect service, quality food, coffee and wifi. Great place to get a yummy lunch and work done.

Excellent food and friendly staff members. The place has a nice ambience to it that helped me to relax while enjoying my lunch. Would definitely recommend eating here.

I had my first experience there yesterday and absolutely loved it! Food was amazing and so was the coffee. Really cool vibe and good service.

I'm disappointed. Not so much in the cafe, which I know is not great, but in myself for forgetting this and ending up here for what was supposed to be a breakfast treat. Coffee is bitter and takes ages to arrive, and my wholemeal bread for my scrambled eggs has morphed into rye. There are plenty of other cafes around here - I'd recommend giving one of them a try.
