A collective of artisans from the rural idyll of Upper Moutere, Nelson
Upper Moutere – a small village outside Nelson in New Zealand’s South Island – is home to a bunch of creative and productive people.
They make glorious wine, stunning sheep cheese, olives oils, they grow gourmet mushrooms and strawberries and make traditional cider from real cider apples. Local conserves are made and bottled in the village using plums, blackberries and boysenberries. It is home to ceramics artists, sculptors and wood workers. The Moutere Inn is the oldest pub in New Zealand and pours 14 artisan beers.
These people are the Moutere Artisans and they invite you to share their very special village.
Stay in the village’s unique accommodation , fill your cellar and pantry, enjoy a horse trek and choose a work of art to take home.
