So, after my wife's old Samsung S8 failed to run newer apps, she needed a new phone.nnI decided to test out a 2nd-hand store where you can purchase a nearly new, refurbished phone. This has worked for my son.nnHaving looked at reviews of 'nearly new phone stores', I chose Mobile City, despite it being 30 mins from the North Shore.nnI chose a Samsung S24 that was in 'very good condition' and took the phone home for my wife to use. I purchased the phone on Monday, but because of work, she was unable to start setting up the newer phone until Saturday.nnWe spent an hour setting up the S24, and within a few hours, there was glitching of the screen, it would not turn on quickly, andnthere was a noticeable delay. Then the screen failed entirely - see the image taken quickly.nnI then took the phone back to the shop, where they wanted to run diagnostics to determine if the phone had been damaged physical or water damage, which would invalidate the 1-year warranty.nnThere had been no damage at all, as my wife had been unable to use the phone because it crashed. They took the phone in the morning, replaced the screen, and said it had broken. I received a text saying the screen had been replaced and that I could collect the phone later that afternoon.nnBoth are 1-hour round-trips obviously, this Mobile City is not aware of this.nnThe phone was collected and wrapped, with instructions not to use it for another 12 hours while the glue dried. That was fine, and it appeared to work fine with the new screen once set up again... but only for another 12 hours!nnMy wife went out to meet a friend for dinner that evening and wanted to use the phone to pay for the meal. The screen died again just after texting her friend to meet at a specific time, her friend had to pay for my wife's meal!nnThe decision was clear now - the phone was faulty, and I wanted a full refund.nnTook the phone back on Thursday and was given a full refund. The service rep advised that this is the first time it had happened with a Samsung S24 - hmmm...not so sure about that?nnAs for feedback, there needs to be a higher standard of quality control introduced, with diagnostic tests for the phones in stock.nnThe service was OK, but having a phone die that quickly and not being able to find the root cause wasn't good.nnWhen you purchase second-hand, it can be a hit, or in this case a miss...
nGreat sturdy tablet and accessories. I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 2020 32GB WiFi Excellent Grade, along with a heavy-duty shockproof purple case and a tempered glass screen protector. Everything fits perfectly and feels very durable — ideal for kids and everyday use.nnI really appreciated a staff member calling to let me know the original screen protector wasn’t available and that it was replaced with a tempered glass protector instead. Excellent communication and service.nnI was also very impressed with the courier service: ordered online on 23/12/25, paid for overnight shipping, and received it the next day on Christmas eve. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely amazing experience with this company. Super helpful with their replies to my questions. Super fast shipping, received it 2-3 days after purchasing. Came safely wrapped. The phone itself is exactly as described, couldn’t be happier with the condition of it. Described as like new, and it’s exactly that, basically fresh out the box. Even the battery health is at 95%. so far it’s running smoothly and perfectly so I couldn’t be happier. Definitely recommend this company to anyone wanting to purchase a refurbished phone, super nice people!

Since we didn’t understand much at first, we asked him for advice, and he patiently explained everything to us in a clear and friendly way.
