The type of work carried out by Mike Pearce Boatbuilders Ltd varies considerably as it is client dependent. The work includes new craft, modifications to existing craft as well as repairs and maintenance (including a number of Young 88's). A high proportion of Mike Pearce Boatbuilders Ltd client base are repeat or referrals.
In late 2005, to the delight of the owner, Mike Pearce Boatbuilders Ltd completed "Picnic Bay" a Don senior designed 11.4m launch. "Picnic Bay" featured in the July 2006 edition of Boating New Zealand. As the result of this a second launch is currently under negotiation.
In late 2006 an existing client wanting to commission the building of a new Young 88 approached Mike Pearce Boatbuilders Ltd. This led to Mike Pearce Boatbuilders Ltd obtaining the License to Build Young 88s and being granted the exclusive rights to market and sell young 88 yachts, from kit-boat stage to complete boats to New Zealand Australia markets.
In 2010 we luanched the first Ray Beale designed Barrier 10 and currently have the second under way
