But does it live up to their own standard... NonnNever heard of violence at school.nnCare more about $$$ than they'd probably care to admit.nnHave mostly great staff, but some that spoil it.nnDon't really see them delivering on their promises. A lot of burying heads in the sand.nnHowever, the students are OUTSTANDING. Two sons through the school, mixed results in terms of satisfaction. If you have learning challenges, this isn't the school for you IMO.nnWhatever your expectations are, drop them down one and it's about right.nnDon't take any action on concerns about student mental health. A year later came asking about donation money and would discuss issues if I pay...or words to that intent.

I was a student there between 1992 - 1995. And I absolutely hated it. Bullying and teased alot. It's focus was all academic not in the practical creative side, found it really hard to make friends sitting on my own most of the time.

There is a lot of discrimination within this school. They favour the sporty students over academically gifted students to participate in certain activities, ie camp leader etc. They don’t allow boys to play in the netball team also

Very bad bullying problem.nNever helps students when they come for help from teachers.nTeachers themselves seem more concerned on outward appearances of students than on the students mental and physical well-being.nOnly good point is the counselor cares Sadly he is the only one who doesnStudents have been complaining about this bullying problem for years but the Senior Leadership team have done nothing but use copy paste methods from the internet to 'solve' the problem. Spoilers: They didn'tnThis school does not concern itself very much about the learning of their students, but rather on how good it looks to other places around Christchurch.nDO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE, IT IS NOT A GOOD PLACE TO LEARN AT.nnEdit: as of 3 years later from writing this review, the problems still persist. I had hoped they would fix their issues, but it seems they have not.
