I've been here a few times; staff are nice and friendly, but the lighting is a bit too dark. That makes the ambiance in Mexico Petone much better. Nonetheless, the food is really great; a wide variety of taco fillings!
Really nice food but very small servings for the price. No good tables for couples and very noisy so hard to talk to each other. Staff were friendly and helpful. We got a Virgin Mango, Lime & Mint Margarita Carafe, Enchiladas/Tacos with Impossible pork, Potato & Chickpea Masa Tacos, and Patatas Bravas all Vegan & GF. All delicious but small servings so recommend ordering double. Vegetarian options: Vegan options Dietary restrictions: Vegan and Gluten free options
Absolutely loved it. Will be going back. and back... Great vibe. Fantastic service, dude on was very attentive and quick. ON POINT Margaritas!!! Taco Tuesday rocked. Get a fried chicken taco and a perfect Margarita choice of 1 of 10 different types for $15. or fried cauliflower taco Reccomend!!!
Had a highly underwhelming experience. We ordered off Uber eats and we were ripped off. We ordered the ceviche and the portion was minuscule compared to the $28.80 we paid for it. The fish was bland and more cooked than raw. The cherry tomatoes that it came with did not complement at all and along with the sauce made the abundance of flavours unsatisfactory. The guacamole was straight avocado with a touch of tomato, onion and coriander on the top. The portion size was again minuscule compared to the price and something a 6 year old could make. The beef pomegranate taco was a roti wrap filled with bland beef mince. The pomegranate was non existent which took away the flavour and made it nearly unbearable. The quesadilla was tasteless and the portion to price ratio was far off. The food was inedible and the portion sizes left me feeling obliged to make a complaint. I would not recommend, left me feeling empty and had to make another meal which was substantially better. If I could give 0 stars, I would.
The good: - Great service - Food arrived quickly The okay: - Portions are small - Prices are not equally small - Very loosely "Mexican". Don't expect authenticity, but the food is nice. The bad: - They have one cash register for seating arriving patrons as well as ringing up customers who are done dining. It took me 15 minutes to just pay and leave while a queue of people grew behind me.
Fast and friendly service. Delicious food and drink. Dimly light ambiance and mostly bench-style seating. Would strongly recommend booking to be safe. And I hope their range of hot sauces and Mexican beers return soonFood: 5/5
Usually dine at the Auckland Sylvia Park location which is always a 10/10 experience. Here although the birria tacos were still amazing , the sangria always ordered by us was basically water - no taste of the fruit or alcohol. Had to go up to the bar to be able to order food/drinks ?? Lighting is basically non existent and toilets are broken. Had to get our own cutlery and napkins as none were provided on arrival nor when the food was served. Just not to the standard we commonly see.
Food and service were great! Thank you!
Totally recommended. I have came here on a Thursday night with some colleagues. First time, we followed recommendations from the waitress,... absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was great, quiet and yet welcoming.
Service below par and food bland: Waited several minutes for someone to attend front desk despite a grand total of 3 tables being served. Unclear how to order bar or wait staff? After being served waited ages for drinks whilst watching bar attendant sit at table talking to another staff member. After walking to bar to ask about drinks told ticket had just arrived despite looking at it sitting there for several minutes. Food stodgy, overpriced, zero flavour and limited menu... No refried beans, enchiladas, sizzling plates, jalapenos etc.... Could not recommend in good conscience.
