3rd visit 21.6.25. Food still excellent. Service great, food arrived quickly and beautiful presentation. Went for sons birthday. Food was great. Son loved curry special. Loved the steaks. Great portions. Bit of a drive from Auckland central but atmosphere made up for long drive.
We went in for dinner at around 8pm, were told that kitchen might be closed and that staff needed to check with chef. We then waited at the bar to order a drink … told the chef needed to be serving food in order for us to get a drink. Told they only had mac n cheese. We said we would just like to order a drink then. Served my the most abrupt lady, made us feel very uncomfortable and that we were only allowed 1 drink. Incredibly rude to us. We sat outside and then about 20 minutes later, last orders were called. We went to the bar to request another drink and treated like children being told by the same rude lady “ I told you I would only serve you 1 drink” despite serving others in the bar at the same time.nWould not recommend this place at all, which is a shame because it’s beautiful inside but the people are not. Absolutely not ok to be treated in this way, made to feel guilty about ordering a drink! Make your minds up about your closing time and politely inform patrons of this.nTo the lady behind the bar, hospitality is not for you!
We had a fantastic night out celebrating a family birthday. The food was absolutely delicious, but what really stood out was the team serving us -their humour made it feel like we got a free comedy show! It was a really fun night so I’m so pleased we picked this spot!!! Also the crème brûlée is a must-try -apparently based on a recipe produced by a Michelin-starred chef.
A great spot to pop in, have a few bevies while enjoying some pub food.nI would have given them a 5 ….except the pork belly was mediocre. No crispy crackling, just reheated on a grill, which turned it dry and gave the skin a burnt flavor.nService was good, atmosphere great.
Awesome atmosphere, friendly staff and superb food. I ordered a tasty medium rare scotch filet, with roasted kumara and mushroom sauce. My wife asked for a parmegiana chicken, which was well served and delicious. My boys each requested mac and cheese, spaghetti and chicken nibbles, good sized. It must be quite. Ice in the summer because the outside area is huge.
