We came prepared for greatness, primed by the good reviews we had read, and wanting to start our weekend anniversary celebration with something special. But nothing prepared us for the wonderful welcome we received on arriving. We were greeted like royalty even though we hadn’t booked and our table looked out over the beautiful creek and gardens tip: book a table outside!nWe had the special Valentine’s Day menu and every dish was thoughtfully prepared with attention to balance in flavours and presentation. The service was flawless. And the pinnacle was the Death by Chocolate dessert- chocolate presented in five different ways, paired with coffee, cherries, strawberries and chocolate chips. A wonderful experience in every way!

MMK - Top Spot!nOur family had a great Saturday afternoon at MMK last week for Mum’s 80th birthday lunch! We will definitely be returning… Very picturesque setting, the food was delicious and we can’t say enough about the MMK crew… super friendly, attentive & helpful. Family travelled to MMK from Pakuranga, Pukekohe, Tapora, Warkworth & Wellsford for lunch; it was an excellent place to all get together for Mum’s special day.nThank you MMK

We had a wonderful time celebrating Mum's 80th Birthday last Saturday night. The food was amazing and the staff couldn't do enough for us! They even made a cute sign for the table for her which was a lovely touch! We had a great table overlooking the river which made it extra special and dessert came with a candle : Well done team... we will be back!

For the past few years, we’ve celebrated our wedding anniversary at this beautiful restaurant overlooking the river. The outdoor setting in summertime is peaceful and relaxing, with plenty of shade options. The food is delicious and flavoursome, thanks to an excellent chef, and the drinks are just as good. The service is always fantastic.nnLast year, the staff went the extra mile by writing “Happy Anniversary” on the paper tablecloth, which we thought was incredibly sweet and thoughtful and added an extra special touch to our evening. We may make it a tradition to celebrate here every year, as it’s always a wonderful experience - and Matakana is such a beautiful, romantic place .
