Located adjacent to the Matakana Village Farmers Market on the same side of the road. This is more craft, clothing, arts, secondhand goods etc for sale here. There are more stalls inside the building as well. I only saw one food vendor here and I didn't see any restrictions about dogs here
Just amazing. Quite a long journey from Auckland, but well worth it, not to mention nature mesmerizing you as long the drive.nThe market gives the feel of a joyful culture, carefree, worry free and relaxed. This is market as and Matakana village in general, takes one, back in time to long ago , to a vintage painted era. The feeling is as though one is reading a Tom Sawyer book in their childhood by an open meadow besides a quiet stream . Can't describe it any better.
Really preserving the vibe. Selections of handmade crafts from pottery to jewellery and clothing. It goes on. Better relaxing than the more commercial farmers' market next door.
On a nice weather Saturday morning, the best way to start it is by spending a couple of hours at Matakana market. Tho I do suggest to get there earlier than 10am, cause the traffic gets manic about that time if you're coming from Auckland
Some nice things, but not much of local fresh fruit and vegetables… More like a cafes and lunch style food in an open space but sorry to say: so many are overpriced .nAlso, although it’s an open air place you are not allowed to walk through with your dogunder control/on leadThe dog sitting provided payed is in a very small area. Can be a bit stressful with so many dogs together. Considering the amount of people that go there, would be a good idea to upgrade the “dog area”and provide a better service
