Welcome to the Mark Jones Harness Racing Stables official Facebook page. Mark, now in his third season as a professional trainer has quickly risen to being among the leading trainers in New Zealand. A champion driver, Mark has all the attributes to also become a champion trainer. This page will be frequently updated with news, nominations, fields, photos and reports.
Mark Jones Harness Racing Stables is based at Overport Lodge in Burnham. A property previously developed by thoroughbred trainer Neil Ridley. The property has 19 day paddocks, another 6 big ones in the middle of the track and about 30 all up plus 18 boxes inside.” The 20.2-hectare property is in pristine condition, complete with an irrigation system for yearlong growth in the paddocks. The property is home to a 16-horse gated automated walking machine, which has a top speed of 18 kilometers an hour when fully wound up, and can work both clockwise and anti clockwise. Overport Lodge has a 1100m outer deep sand training track, while a 1000m all-weather track for fast work is under construction.
