Professional full time rider offering breaking in, schooling, selling on behalf, facility hire, lessons, quality horses for sale, and livery.
I have been around and riding horses since a very young age, my mother taught me to ride at 3 years old on a tiny wee black pony called Sambo. I was involved in pony club briefly, but mainly spent my younger years riding everywhere and jumping my ponies over anything i could find. At 17 I started riding trackwork before moving to Auckland and starting at Abderry in South Auckland in September 2002, where i stayed until July 2011. At Abderry i learnt pretty much everything i know now about riding, breaking in, and handling all types of different horses! My time there provided the knowledge, confidence, and competence i have now and i will be forever grateful to Cheski Brown for everything she taught me and how far she took my riding.
My main passion is Showjumping, the main goal being Grand Prix. I currently have two lovely, talented showjumpers that will take me there. I have regular lessons with my coach Lucy Maley.
My extremely supportive fiance Martin trains Standardbreds, has a talent for handling the difficult horses on the ground, getting them more compliant, and has a passion for hunting.
Our current base is on Telegraph road at "Little Twist Of Nature" where we have an arena, a jumping paddock with a full set of showjumps and fillers, several acres of forestry with cross country fences already installed, with more being built all the time, and several permanent spars built into the fences, all the types of spars you will meet out hunting. These facilities are open for hire at $15 per horse.
The services on offer are breaking-in, flat schooling, jump schooling, getting your hunter fit and jumping spars, sale on behalf, facility hire, livery, competition riding, exposing horses to hunting, pre-purchase rides, we also have quality horses on offer for sale all the time. Pre-training can also be offered, next door where the racehorses are based, with a 800m training track, and access to the local Hororata racetrack.
I am also available for lessons either here on your horse, or can travel. Each lesson is $30 per hour. Travel fees may apply for further out areas.
I offer a professional, experienced atmosphere, where patience, confidence and fun is foremost. I have access to local arenas, tracks, xc facilities as well as our fabulous facilities, so your horse can have as much exposure as possible. I am also available to take horses to shows, hunts and training days as required.
