We kayaked here from Top10 Paihia and everything tasted amazing. Soy flat whites using 'Toasted' brand coffee beans were absolutely perfect. Had to come back the following day just to check it wasn't a fluke. Lightning struck twice and we had the best smashed avo of all time.Food: 5/5

Unfortunately we did not have the greatest food here although you cannot fault the lovely atmosphere and location this cafe provides. Coffee and hot choc were poorly aerated resulting in a dry thick foam top and watery mouth feel rather than velvety. Disappointed to have paid for an XL drink and received one with 40mm of foam. Not to mention that the hot choc tasted like milk with a whisper chocolate - is this maybe the type powder being used? The french toast was bland but had 5/5 presentation. Only flavour coming through was the roasted banana, crushed peanuts and berries these were also cold being cooked from frozen I assume. However, 1 star is earnt for their Opua Grill breakfast meal - this was tasty. Perfectly poached egg, in-store made toast and lovely spiced rosti. Another star is for the friendly staff and well decorated, welcoming space. I'm only writing this review because we'd love to come and try again in the future if these critiques are taken on board :
Had the Smashed Avocado which was to die for and Beautifully presented with a delish coffee. Dog friendly which is a massive bonus and delightful staff. The man I'm assuming was owner/management was so accommodating and helpful! Id give them 10 stars if I could.

We have just enjoyed an amazing evening meal in the marina at Opua. It was a pleasant surprise to be offered top quality Thai food by a very engaged owner who couldn’t have been more friendly and accomodating. Well done to the staff and hopefully 2023 will reward your tenacity and hard work this year. Give this cafe a try and you won’t be disappointed Parking: Easy
This is a great cafe looking over the boats at the Opua Marina. Food is always good and a great stop after using the cycle track close by. Friendly staff and a great chef!
A nice surprise in an out of the way place. Nice soup and Thai beef salad.Food: 5/5
Best breakfast, awesome staff, great location. Parking can be difficult as they are in the marina next to Burnsco so when it's busy less parking available. Definitely have their rosti - it's why we go there every week.
We had an enjoyable lunch. The chowder was pretty good. Would definitely go back. The service was great.
