First timer as I've always walked passed and they have been fulled with customers. Had today's special Risotto with green pea saffron and seared scallops. It was pretty tasty dish I think there too much peas as I ate all the scallops at the start. Hope people see it on the main menu. ChurFood: 4/5
This is not a bad stop if you were shopping in the mall in central Dunedin. Service is pretty good generally, however, you get a feel that staff are rushed off their feet at times. It’s not unusual to see absolute no eye contacts as they go around and some running on the floor to bring back your meals. Coffees are good, baking is pretty good too, salads a bit average and lots of carb loaded cabinet food. Good place to buy a gift for a foodie friend of partner. Another quick solo visit while doing shopping in the mall. Tried freshly carved store made ham. Yumm. The French chef super friendly and knowledgeable, gave me a slice of the sourdough bread. Then this gorgeous cute waitress gave me some butter for my bread. Great chat, laughs, yummy food and spot on coffee. We have a winning formula here. Thanks Chin and the team Sunday shopping rest place. Good coffee, half chips done extra crunchy with double aoili. Perfectly executed. Very polite wait staff. Bought some ham from the deli, very scrumptious. The almond croissant was out of this world. Thanks team for yet another memorable experience. Vegetarian options: Heaps of salads Kid-friendliness: Lots of baking and chips Parking: Free mall parking certain days. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian gluten free and various milks
Our regular go to for a coffee or lunch while shopping in town. The food hasn't changed for a long time - a change up would be nice. Please bring back the brioche scrolls! When I was breastfeeding my newborn during one visit, one of the staff was very kind and brought me water without me asking for it - so thoughtful
Stopped by here for a quick coffee. The coffee was good and staff friendly. Very busy which is always a good sign. Very central as located in the Wall Street Mall. They also serve a lot of hot and cold food but did not try this during this visit. There is also a small shop which sells a variety of different food/cooking related items. Overall highly recommend this cafe to others.
Cupcake was soft, moist, and had a velvety icing. Salad was good, one of the few places I found that does a good salad. The chicken waffle were very sweet from the sauce, with lots of sauce on the meal. Quite overwhelming with the sweetnest. Did not really enjoy it.
So impressed with this place. Had a lovely coffee and bite to eat in the morning. Most restaurants were closed boxing day so we asked about their charcuterie platter to take away. They were so helpful, friendly and went above and beyond with the platter. Hope they come to Cambridge. 5 star +
Arrived in city from the airport after lunch. Wanted a quick bite before checking into hotel. An excellent variety of well presented, tasty food. Good coffees, and efficient service. Stayed longer than planned and enjoyed watching the shoppers passing by.Food: 5/5
First time visit and definitely go back for the fish, delicious Food: 5/5
On Friday 9th September I took my 9 year old grandchild to Marbecks for a lunchtime treat. He wanted fish and chips. this child requires a gluten free diet for health reasons. I asked the young woman if they could do a half portion for a child. She didn't know so checked with the chef. On her return I was told that they were more than happy to do a half portion for a child but I would still be required to pay full price. As there was a long queue behind and my grandchild was present with me at the counter I chose not to challenge this.
3 Stars = average The missus had a frittata which was not properly heated all the way through, not awesome. And I found the coffee average. Wouldn’t come for a coffee here again. MiL’s cheese toastie was good tho. And some of the other cabinet food looked great. Plenty busy, so people are clearly happy with the place. Maybe just bad luck for us.
