Had enough! I am looking at moving from this practice, I do not feel they have my health in their best interests any longer. This practice used to be great when it was run by Vic Allcock and Mike Lyons. Under the new or not so new management things have really taken a dive. I can very rarely get appointments with my regular doctor Karageorge more about him later as he’s booked out weeks in advance due to only working part time. I have asked to be moved under another doctor’s care only to be told we are not reallocating patients at this time. This means I’m persistently bounced between different doctors every-time I need to discuss a new issue. I have the following feedback about this practice -nn1. Restrictive Consultation PolicynThe rule limiting patients to a maximum of two medical issues per consultation, regardless of whether the allocated 15-minute time slot allows for more, is unnecessarily rigid and counterproductive. This policy forces patients to book multiple appointments for related concerns, creating inconvenience and additional costs without any clear clinical benefit.n2. Excessive Medication Review RequirementsnThe requirement for six-monthly medication reviews, when the legal obligation is only once per year, appears unjustified. While I appreciate the importance of medication safety, this policy imposes an unnecessary financial burden on patients and gives the impression that revenue generation is being prioritized over patient care.n3. Professional Conduct and CommunicationnOn several occasions, I have found your manner, Dr. Karageorge, to be curt and dismissive. This lack of engagement and empathy makes it difficult to discuss health concerns openly and undermines the trust that is essential in a doctor-patient relationship.nnOverall ConcernnThese policies and interactions suggest that the practice is operating more like a business than a healthcare provider focused on patient well-being. I urge you to review these practices and consider whether they align with the principles of patient-centered care.
I have been a patient of this practice for over 30 years. It used to provide excellent care, but the quality has declined significantly under the current management. Dr. George Karageorge comes across as dismissive and unapproachable, and he does not appear to support proactive healthcare. Despite being required to see him every six months just to renew long-term medications I’ve been on for over five years, I have not had basic health checks - such as blood tests or blood pressure monitoring - in years. These appointments take less than five minutes and cost $72 each time.
Only giving one star because I have to otherwise it would have been zero. Admin were rude. The doctors were rude. When I finally saw someone, Kirsty Steggles was so cold and rude and the other doctors were terrible and reception rude. There are better options locally. I wouldn't recommend in any way shape or form, plus the doctor I was assigned lied about my situation and wrote terrible notes despite never having seen me. The practice manager was also incredibly rude. Heed the warning and do not go here. Plimmerton is much better or Ora Toa or any other medical centre.
I’m a new to Mana Medical Centre and Dr Matt Marshall was excellent. He was friendly and knowledgeable, probably the best GP I’ve ever had, I was very impressed with the service I received!
I wish I could give this practice zero stars. This was the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had with a GP. The doctor Anna Datta, was 15 minutes late, even though my appointment was the third of the day if that. She couldn't find the results of my test ultrasound practice had already confirmed to me had been sent. And said there was nothing further she could do. When I asked if she could give them a ring she said that was not her job, and that we only have 15 minutes left for the appointment. I pointed out that that meant we had 13 minutes and she finally agreed to call the ultrasound clinic. They gave her the results and she completely misinterpreted them by confusing cm and mm. She said many inconsistent things and also did not listen to me at all. Any questions I asked she seemed very confused.nnI was charged $70 for the pleasure of this experience, and I waited almost two weeks for the appointment which was “the earliest one”
