Great cafe and quick bite food shop. Most of the products are organic. They have indoor as well outdoor seating arrangement. You can grab hot and cold drinks too. But I felt the prizes are pretty expensive as they are organic. So if your organic food lover and want to eat outside them this place to go.
Forget what you know about bagels, these are the best and have no hole in middle. Available in so many flavors like onion, poppy seed, blueberry.... so many to try
Pumpkin cheese pies used to be good here,,,, I have good memories ordering these in the past, they used to be creamy and spicy with lots of filling now they are small and slightly watery with less flavour. Will see if they improve again later on
Mamata Bakehouse used to be great, but not anymore. The food was dreadful, a soggy bread roll, stale cake and Englush breakfast tea that had a strong metallic taste, coffee sugar was in brown sugar in a cup. The hygiene was non-existent, we had to ask for the table and chairs to be cleaned, all were filthy. The service was poor, and a disgruntled child was part of the waiting staff. The place should be closed down. Don't go there.
Perhaps I am just fussy, but we were disappointed. The $5 Steak and Mushroom pie was not great, the filling was okay, not awful, but the pastry was below par. The louise slice was a very big piece, and very solid, but the jam just layer about needed CSI to detect it, overall it was very bland, and I actually threw most of it away, which is saying something because I rarely turn down food. We were disappointed and expected better.
Pepper Steak Pie- Phenomenal. Crust consistent crunchy crumbly light. Pepper garnish on pie top perfect. Steak portion not generous but certainely adequate portion of meat and succulent fat cooked to tender perfection. Sauce was delicious- I usually prefer more meat and less sauce but I will say the food experience 10/10. Compliments to baker and same. Coffee Flatwhite- Interesting bean flavor. Perfect hot temperature. Silky delicious. iCoco coffee cup retains temperature well. Only the Large isn't large enough to satisfy the quantity I desire. Compliments to barista! Great service and location. Cheers
Bacon & eggs pie tastes lower than average ~
We came in for a few bagels, and survived our ratty tiff! My son had a driving test on his mind. We talked. Your bagels came in handy for a very hungry young man, after the test. The Spelt bagels tasted faintly of cinnamon, though it might have been cinnamon raisin bagels in the bags with them. Comforting and delicious fare, made with kindness. You cheered us up. Thanks.
Good afternoon, Tryed Mince& Cheese pie Today.. Grey Lynn Resident for past 40 years.. Delicious Filling, Pastry. Excellent.. Value for Money.. Was a Toyshop, for All you Historians...
I regularly visit Mamata . They make great coffee consistantly. Could do with a few more vegan options. My favourite is the apple raisin date cake. Always delightful counter staff and a great spot to sit and recharge
