Came to westmere off my normal track and had lunch here. At Catroux. Very enjoyable sandwiches and shared a lemon pistachio treat. I found the coffee excellent which with all press I am not normally so effusive. Well worth the trip. Staff pleasant and place clean. Cost $$
The best cakes in town. We ordered carrot cake and it was amazing. Soft, fluffy with just right amount of icing. Had carrot cakes in top restaurants in Auckland but this one beats all of them. Highly recommend.

*Updated 3/10/22: Found it hard to enjoy a cafe that's full of smoke, and left with my hair and clothes stinking of burnt food. Clearly major ventilation issues. Secondly soggy toast from wet eggs is sacrilege, which took 10 mins to get new toast. Wake up Chef. Cosy cafe, good tasty food and nice coffee. Well priced and relaxed.
Gorgeous food, well presented, excellent service. I had the mushrooms on toast, mouth-wateringly excellent with a couple of perfect poached eggs, and a slice of their own seedy bake, also insanely tasty. Love this place.
We had a delicious Fitness bowl. Excellent, tasty, good quality products. Cost and value are worth what you get. Well located in Westmere, parking around.
I've had good and not-so-good experiences here. But the last visit was lovely - not too busy for a Friday, delicious salads and yummy menu. Will be going back for the haloumi scrambled eggs with chimichurri and chilli salt - sounds delish! Great vegetarian options too.
Having tried many of the specialty cake shops in Auckland, I can unequivocally state that the birthday cake I ordered for my partner from Catroux Passionfruit, Passion Curd, Caramelized White Chocolate Buttercream was the best and most reasonably priced cake I have had for a very LONG time. I'll be back for my birthday cake :
Make this your regular Sunday brunch spot. Everything was exceptional! In particular the French toast, perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Great place to treat yourself and they have healthy options if you're sticking to New year's resolutions.
First time at Catroux in a few years. Friendly service, great coffee, delicious menu & good cabinet food selection. Loved the Goodness Muesli - figs & raspberries a pleasant addition to what was in description.
