Malo was very very good. The accommodated my dog in the courtyard where we sat down and had a quiet meal. The food was well balanced and fresh! I ordered the squid to start, the pork as the main with a side of veges.
Just hopped in car and just had to do a review on Malo Restaurant!!! Thank you to the chefs who made the food so exquisite!!! Everything and I mean everything was well made, mouth watering and jist cooked to perfection!! The wait staff!!! What can I say? From when me and my husband walked in, they had their A-Game on!! Customer service was just on point and so sweet and knowledgeable with the food and drinks. The wait staff is what made my night eating here!! Lovely, bubbly and all round beautiful down to earth personalities shined through the masks!!! I will without a doubt recommend coming to eat here 2000% percent to get the freshest food, and the most amazing service! Thank you so much
Went here for a dinner with work colleagues, everything went well in terms of service. The food was excellent. Really loved their special of the day which was roasted half duck, special mention to their cream brulee.
The food was delicious and beautifully presented. They had a nice selection of wines. The staff were professional, and friendly. Parking: Park in the hotel parking lot. It's free and just around the corner from the main entrance.

We held our wedding reception at Malo and had a fantastic experience. Their manager, Matt, and head chef, Bert, worked with us to do exactly what we wanted. The food was clearly standout as well as the ability to source top quality wine from all over New Zealand. On the day the whole service crew worked together to give our guests attention and service. Went smoothly and would highly recommend! It was all so much fun No compensation received for this good review. Pork Belly is superb!
Excellent service and delicious food. When you reserve a table you are able to advise the restaurant of your party's dietary requirements. After we sat down, not only were they very clear they had our allergens in mind, but they seemed genuinely happy to accommodate us! This is not always the case when dining out. Amazing food, wine and atmosphere. We were lucky to get a table for us and our toddler. It was busy. Wonderful house bread for the table. The wine list was great! The beef cheek and risotto was divine. I was amazed at the kids menu, we ordered the steak and it was beautiful with potato wedges, brussel sprouts and shitake mushrooms. The restaurant is part of the porters hotel.
Nice food, but was surprised when my Te Mata mushrooms came out in a feta type creamy soup with 2 pieces of ciabatta on the side. It was delicious but wasn't expecting it. Perfect coffee. The avocado and eggs looked great.
