Update Dec 24:nSadly, our second visit was disappointing. The food lacked flavor, and the table's eggs were not cooked to the requested preference, which left us underwhelmed. The service was also worse than our first visit—rude and unengaging, which dampened the overall experience.nnJuly 24:nOn our first visit, we were impressed by the atmosphere—a really cool cafe with stunning views and a lively vibe. My coffee was smooth and delicious, a definite highlight.nnI ordered the huevos rancheros, and my nan had the scrambled eggs. We both enjoyed our meals overall. My dish was bursting with flavor, with the ingredients working beautifully together, and I particularly loved the hash. However, the tortilla on the bottom became soggy, which was a letdown. My nan thoroughly enjoyed her meal and rated it highly.nnUnfortunately, the service was inconsistent. While one of the young baristas was friendly and welcoming, the rest of the staff seemed disengaged and lacked the enthusiasm you'd expect in a customer-facing role.nnAs someone in the hospitality industry myself, I understand the challenges, but customer service is a key part of the experience. While Lyttelton Coffee Co excels in coffee and views, the lack of consistently welcoming and accommodating service lets it down. It’s a shame because this cafe has so much potential.
Worth the trip to Lyttleton. Great location and venue, coffee was fantastic and the food was v good.
5 star experience however for us neurodivergent people it's very loud and overstimulating!nBeautiful food, great people that work there and wholesome environment that believe in the right things!!!! Great supportive co-op place to be, just very loud and lots of people which isn't a bad thing just overwhelming food is very affordable too!
A wonderful ambience on a Sunday morning. Seemed full of regulars and locals. Worth the drive out to Lyttleton. Some great local shops around too.
It was almost closing time but we were welcome to sit on the deck and have coffees, which was amazing - see the view. Nice and sheltered from the cold wind blowing on the main street. Had flat whites with oat milk and they were delicious and creamy. Great coffee! Slices in the cabinet looked delicious too.
