Lone Star NZ

Stopped in for an early birthday lunch. Restaurant was rather quiet but that was no issue. Food was delivered within about twenty or so minutes so not a long wait time. Ordered one of their burgers and it was very good. My family had the sirloin steak and fish and chips, both said it was delicious. Not too overly priced but when ordering the burger, it is an extra $6 to add chips which in most places they're included in the meal with no extra charge. Staff were really friendly and accommodating.

We had booked our table for 6.15pm. It was extremely busy. Our waitress took our orders and we did have a bit of a wait but to be fair it was worth it. Our meals came out and they were great. We had a Johnny Cash Stash and a Honky Tonk Chicken. The meals were huge and we couldn't finish them.

Visited here with family for a really special occasion. All of our meals were cooked really nicely and beautifully presented. I had the Lasso of hog and the pork was so nice and tender. I always have to give hubby some of my meal because the meals are so huge there. Hubby had spare ribs and he was too busy getting stuck into those to talk. We picked a private booth area to be seated and we enjoyed the food, atmosphere and hospitality. Complements to the chefs and team for our fantastic meals! The only thing that I would change for next time is to ask for less salt on the crackle - so just a really minor thing. Thank you Lone Star Bush Inn, Christchurch. We'll be back! PS The photo was taken after I'd got stuck into my meal and then realised that I'd forgotten to take one - so my meal came out way nicer than what you can see.

Been to the lone star twice in 2 weeks. Was pretty disappointed taking my mother in law there then again going back with my partner to see if anything changed but nope. Ordered eggs bene with a side of avocado, my avocado came out 10 minutes after my eggs. One of my eggs was cooked hard as seen in photo and one of my eggs was runny. And come on, $5 extra I payed for my avocado and I had to wait 10 minutes after my food arrived for it. Also to mention our food came out cold! In which it also came out cold last time we dined there. Will not go back to this Lonestar. Inappropriate and unprofessional waiter also.

I came here for a welcome back dinner and left very upset with the whole night. Service was awful, food was disappointing and bland. We ordered off the new vegan menu after being previously advised they had food available for a guest with allergies, they kept bringing out non vegan sour cream with the vegan food without saying it wasn't vegan which makes no sense at all and did not listen to the guest with allergies saying she couldn't eat what was put in front of her. The server kept leaving with a huff and was pretty aggressive with our table. The food was bad and bland. We weren't given glasses for water just the water jug so we had to go and get them ourselves off the bar. Our drinks were delayed too. We complained at the end was met with an aggressive manager who has no customer service skills. Blamed the guest with allergies saying she should have checked the menu herself when she had already called in 2 weeks ago to confirm. He then told me I should be nicer to people after I had said nothing to him except that they needed to sort their vegan menu out. He is the manager and he is blaming the customers who have had an awful experience at the restaurant. Then blamed us for not being rude while running away and ignoring what we were saying. I will never come here again, avoid at all costs. I'm assuming these staff members are losing their jobs with their closure soon and that is reflecting their work. Still cannot believe how much we paid for this meal to be made to feel so little and disrespected as if it was our fault. Absolutely ridiculous.

It’s solid, but nothing is really excellent here. Just your typical chain: difficult to fall below certain standards, but nothing outstanding.

Lovely place to dine. Not too busy for a Monday evening. I hadn't made a reservation so we had to wait 10 minutes for a table but that was ok as they have a bar area that is pleasant to be in even with two children under 5. The service was absolutely lovely. My food was very well cooked I had the lamb and it was just falling apart it was so DeVine. I downloaded the app which gave me a free desert, what a awesome idea just for downloading the app. I will add photos of my meal tonight as it was so good

It’s my first time having steak in New Zealand and it was worth it. The lamb was cooked nicely. The steak we ordered was made well done but I think it is best for you to order it as medium well. Lone star is Halal certified which is a huge relief for me. Got the red velvet cake for dessert and it was amazing.

We had a good meal, I just wish the Indian guys provides the bowl of water for after the nibble entrees. The size of serving is worth the price. Good ambiance too..
