Story

Welcome to Lochmara. We are a Wildlife Recovery and Arts Centre and Lodge in New Zealand. Discover our hidden world in the magical Marlborough Sounds: conservation projects, nature trails, hidden sculpture, art galleries, native birds and geckos and stunning scenery.

To get to Lochmara simply give us a call on 03 573 4554 to book a seat on our boat Dreamcatcher (Fees apply) There is no road access to Lochmara. We have regular scheduled boat trips, so come on over and experience a 15 minute boat ride and a great day at Lochmara.

Fantastic day trip out to the lodge, food was really good and the underwater observatory and commentary were great. Very family-friendly and worth traveling to.

The friendtastic package was a wonderful way to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The lunch platter, wine and romantic bath soak was superb!

Part of a quartet of fantastic boat-access lodge/restaurants in the Marlborough Sounds. A super relaxed vibe, great food and stunning views set in the Marlborough Sounds.. one of the best kept secrets in NZ. Lochmara Lodge is a a compulsory stop off every time we're lucky enough to get to the Sounds!
Great destination! We only stayed 24 hours and regretted that. Would’ve loved to have relaxed some more and done some of the water activities. Great place. Great service.
