**Updated in response** It is true. The centre also had no nappies on the last day. You couldn’t have cared less. The MOE is investigating, so we’ll wait for the outcome of this thanks.nnThe owners of Little Blue Penguin recently sold their Bishopdale location and the manner in which it was handled was disgusting.nnThe owners refused to buy enough food to last the final week, so staff were forced to buy dominoes pizzas for 3 days in a row to feed the children. Another staff member had to bring in her own fruit from home, and on the last day they resorted to feeding them crackers from the emergency rations bin.nnThe previous owners of Little Blue Penguin Bishopdale still own this location. So just be wary and informed before deciding to send your children to a place run by people with that sort of attitude.
I cannot express enough how incredible Little Blue Penguins Preschool has been for my daughter! She has been attending since she was just 6 months old, and now at 2.5 years old, I am absolutely amazed at how much she has thrived and grown under their care.nnFrom day one, the teachers created such a warm, welcoming, and nurturing environment that made us feel confident and secure leaving our little one in their hands. The staff is beyond amazing—kind, professional, and truly dedicated to fostering each child's unique development. It’s so clear they put a lot of thought into every activity, lesson, and interaction, ensuring that the children not only learn but also have fun!nnMy daughter has blossomed in ways I didn’t think possible. Her social skills, language development, and confidence have grown tremendously. She looks forward to each day at preschool, and it’s heartwarming to see her so excited to spend time with the teachers and her friends. The teachers are so patient and attentive, always communicating with us and keeping us updated on her progress.nnThe atmosphere at Little Blue Penguins is like no other—a true sense of community. It feels like an extended family where every child is cherished and supported. The thoughtful, educational curriculum mixed with play-based learning is the perfect combination for young minds to flourish.nnIf you are looking for a preschool that truly cares about your child's well-being and development, I highly recommend Little Blue Penguins! They have made a lasting impact on our family, and we are forever grateful. Thank you to the wonderful staff for everything you do!
Can’t recommend LBP enough! The kaiako are so caring and ensure the centre is a safe and stimulating environment for tamariki. Key kaiako work closely with me to cater for my son’s changing needs and he is flourishing because of the strong relationships they have formed. Kaiako have also been learning some NZSL alongside my boy which has not only benefitted him, but other tamariki at the centre. I have no concerns with his transition to attending full time as I know he is happy and well looked after there.
We have loved being a part of LBP for the last 18m, my son thrives and I love the shared spaces for all ages to interact and enjoy. I love the menu options on offer and that the kaiako enjoy working there which makes me happy knowing my son has happy educators
Great team of teachers, my son Naseem has improved in communication and speaking skills, comfortable and supportive environment for children, I highly recommend it
