1 star for the lack of vegan accommodation. We had one vegan guest with us and they had no clue what they could/couldn't offer as vegan options. We ended up asking the waitstaff for a vegan pasta and the only other exception was no olives. The pasta we got was a tomato only pasta, there wasn’t anything else in it, no vegetables, no nothing. Tomato sauce and pasta that was it. My partner ended up asking if she could have the crusts of my pizza to fill her. She ended up paying over $30 for this dish as well which is an absolute joke. Really disappointing and as nice as the other food is, it’s not worth the hefty price point. Very over priced for what you actually get.
Definitely my fave place to go for Italian food! The perfect blend of flavours in the pizza that were not over powering but also not boring either. The food was very well prepared, served hot and service was exceptional. Pasta fabulous texture and taste. Calamari is a MUST! Deserts were wonderful too. Overall, loved the food and vibe here and would come back.
Went for breakfast by myself. Absolutely delicious. However perhaps because it's a week day and the public demographic was primarily retired, I was asked several times if I was having a coffee and take away. It doesn’t feel very welcoming I must say! I hoped for a large table to get some work done as I am self employed. I was asked to move from a large table, 3 tables later... I'm a local and I won't be returning with my family or by myself
I love that place! Really great food and love the ambiance!nHowever one minus point I have to add: when I ordered some salami at their deli counter the lady didn’t wear gloves when cutting the meat. It doesn’t look very hygienic when you don’t know if that person washed their hands before. I think it’s better to handle fresh foods, especially meat with gloves please.
Best Italian food in New Zealand!nnWe spent the last month trying out Italian Restaurants on the South Island and were disappointed each time. As soon as we walked in, knew this was an authentic Italian Restaurant!nnFood & Service was great, if you’re in town and love Italian cuisine then this is your place. Suggest making reservations in advance.
