Mixed Media Artist specialising in portraits and landscapes.
Wanaka artist, Kym Beaton began painting seriously fourteen years ago after looking for a creative outlet while raising a young family. The former Publishing Art Director joined an art class and took to painting, later holding a successful exhibition in her hometown of Sydney.
Since moving to Wanaka five years ago, Kym sat on the Wanaka Arts Society committee for the past two years and participated in exhibitions run by the society, winning the overall first prize in the Labour Weekend exhibition in 2013 and 2015.
Kym specialises in portraits but also finds inspiration in everyday life and the local community. Working on both canvas and paper, Kym prefers to use acrylic and mixed media.
