Story

Koru Early Learning Centre provides quality care and education for all children up to the age of 5 in Birkdale, North Shore City.

The centre is housed in a 1950's bungalow that has been converted into a beautiful centre, with a lovely room for the Under 2 year olds.
All our staff are dedicated and committed to help your children learn and grow and our emergent curriculum is based on the children's interest and ideas and we love to have lots of fun, especially with messy play. We also have an excellent child to teacher ratio.

Our menu has been approved by the Heart Foundation of New Zealand and we provide 3 nutritious meals a day. Our children also love to help us prepare their kai, baking muffins and helping to prepare their own lunch.

We have established close ties to the community and the schools in the vicinity – we liaise closely with them about our transition to school programme.

At Koru, we are committed to providing a rich learning environment with a family atmosphere, where parents/whanu are invited to be an integral part of our learning programme.

Our philosophy is to empower the child. The holistic learning programme helps them to develop self-help skills and social skills. The outdoor area is huge, with lots of space to run, jump, climb, play and create.

The centre operates Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 5:30pm.
