There was a hair in the potato side dish.nOur hair is straight and blue, while the hair found in the dish was short and curly. The staff said the chef was male, but the waitress herself had the same short curly hairstyle.nn There was a piece of purple plastic bag mixed in with the pork backbone dish.nn The rice was dry, yellowish, and very hard, like it had been sitting for a long time.nHowever, when we asked for a replacement, the new bowl was fresh.nn The pork backbone was extremely hard and tough, not soft or tender at all.nn The stir-fried rice cakes were $17 for a portion, but the serving size was tiny — barely enough to cover the bottom of the plate.nn The freshly made fried chicken was not hot enough. The meat inside had no juiciness and tasted very dry.nn The curly-haired waitress with glasses had a very poor attitude.nWe asked for some extra kimchi, and she kept repeatedly questioning us with “Have you already finished it?” several times before finally giving us more.nnThis was the most disappointing restaurant experience I’ve had in Christchurch — genuinely the worst, without question
We visited Korea House without a booking and were told there would be about a 10-minute wait. To our surprise, within minutes our table was ready. The staff quickly cleaned and prepared it for us, which we really appreciated.nOnce seated, we had time to look through the menu, placed our order, and the food arrived very quickly. Everything was absolutely delicious. We ordered Boneless Original Chicken, Tteokbokki, Spicy Stir Fry Squid, Seafood Spicy Soft Tofu Stew, 2 bowls of Rice, along with a few free condiments like kimchi etc — all full of flavour and very satisfying.nThe staff were genuinely friendly, and the prices were very affordable. Overall, a great dining experience. We’ll definitely be back when we're in Christchurch.
We ordered takeout and were told it would take about 15 minutes. We came back after more than 20 minutes, but our order still wasn’t ready. We had to ask about it, and only then did it seem to become a priority. A quick update or apology would have made a big difference.nnThe food was good overall. However, the spicy beef soup was the spiciest soup I’ve ever had in my life! We were told it was “local level,” but if that’s really the local level… I have a new respect for the locals! nnThe beef and vegetables were delicious, but unfortunately the soup was so spicy that we could barely enjoy them. If you don’t LOVE extremely spicy food, I’d recommend choosing something else!
I had the newest menu Chibap for takeaway and was absolutely outstanding. It was packed with chicken and the soy garlic sauce was delicious. I tried many Korean Chibaps and this was by far the best quality and will fill you up. Very affordable and would recommend.
We came here today for their $16 lunch deal. This was the best fried chicken. I had the honey soy chibap and it was just the right sweetness, rice was great and fluffy, salad vegetables were fresh on the side. We had the prawns as an entrée and they were so yummy. Service was top notch too. Definitely no complaints here. Will definitely be back and will recommend it too my friends.
